Dr. Javed Iqbal

  • Javed Iqbal is a veterinarian with MSc Microbiology and PhD in Virology.  After postdoctoral fellowships at Royal Veterinary College, London and Veterinary Laboratories Agency, Surrey, UK, he joined the animal health industry in 2003.

     

    First role in animal health industry was Regulatory Affairs Manager with Fort Dodge Animal Health.  Later he joined Novartis Animal Health in Switzerland as Pharmacovigilance Manager.  His last role with Novartis Animal Health was EU Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance (EU QPPV).

     

    Since 2015 Javed has been working with Elanco Pharmacovigilance in different roles.  His current role is oversight of Elanco PV activities in APAC, LATAM, Russia/Middle East Africa.

     

    Javed is based in UK.

Dr Mária Szabó

Dr Mária Szabó obtained her veterinary degree at the Veterinary Science University in Budapest. After some years in Human Neuroscience Research, she worked in the veterinary field.

Before she joined the OIE, she was employed in a French Multinational Company, Ceva-Phylaxia Co Ltd, working as the lead expert on European procedures.

Previously she worked in the Hungarian public sector, as part of a regulatory body known as the Directorate of Veterinary Medicines, for nearly 15 years. During that time she was seconded to London for two years as a National Expert to the European Medicine Agency (EMEA). She acted as a secretary to the Veterinary Mutual Recognition Facilitation Group (VMRFG,), ( later the Co-ordination Group for Mutual Recognition and Decentralised Procedures, (CMDv)), to the Committee of Veterinary Medicinal Products (CVMP)-Environmental Risk Assessment Working Group (ERA-WP), and as a project manager for centralised procedures. She represented Hungary in different forums in terms of veterinary medicines.

 

Since 2015, Mária has been working for the Word Organisation of Animal Health (OIE), based in Paris. She was responsible for the mission of veterinary medicinal products, now she is working as scientific coordinator.

Ahmed Aufy

Ahmed Aufy hold Bachelor degree in Poultry Science and Master in Poultry Physiology from Ain Shams University.

 

Spent 4 years in research at the Animal and Poultry production research institute in Egypt

Ahmed then re-located to Europe where he got his PhD in Biochemistry (joint work, Milan University, Italy and University of life sciences and natural resources, Vienna, Austria)

Ahmed joined in Elanco in 2013 as EMEA launch and innovation leader and since 2018 he serves as Marketing manager for Poultry.

Javier Y. Marcos

Javier Y. Marcos has a solid history of working in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), with eighteen years of experience in the development and commercialization of diagnostics tests for infectious diseases, both for human and animal health. Graduated as Doctor in Veterinary Medicine in 1997, he also holds a PhD in Microbiology & Molecular Biology from the Leon University, Spain. Recently appointed as Head of the AMR & Veterinary Products Department at the World Organization for Animal Health, he will be providing an overview of the OIE strategy on AMR and the prudent use of antimicrobials. as part of a One Health approach.

 

Ahmed Hasham, Ph.D.

Ahmed has more than 16 years of experience in the quality field. For the past four years, Ahmed has been working for MEVAC as a Quality Assurance Manager. Ahmed has extensive knowledge of QMS ISO 9001:2015, EMS 14001:2015, OHSMS 45001:2018 as a lead auditor and GMP compliance expert. Additionally, Ahmed is a certified trainer in QMS and Biorisk management system. Ahmed obtained his M. Sc. in environmental chemistry from Ain Shams University. Plus earned his Ph.D. in inorganic and analytical chemistry from Suez Canal University, Egypt. His strong background in Quality Assurance, Regulation’s compliance, and managing large corporate teams makes him the perfect fit.

Dr. Leonid Dudnikov

Leonid Dudnikov was born in a family of hereditary vaccinologists and linked his whole life with the development and production of vaccines.

 

In 1986 he graduated from the Academy of Vet Medicine (St.Petersburg, USSR). Ph.D. degree granted in 1992 after the postgraduate course in the All-Union Research Institute for Foot-and-Mouth Disease (now ARRIAH, Vladimir, Russia) at the Lab of Applied Biotechnology. Management experience was improved at the Executive-МВА curses of the International business «Classical Business-school» from 2005 (Moscow, Russia).

 

Starting his working scientific career in 1987 in the ARRIAH, he continued his professional development/collaboration in such laboratories/companies as Avian Disease and Oncology Laboratory (Visiting scientist – MI, USA), CEVA Sante Animale (Industrial Project Manager – Hungary, USA, Mexico), Bio-Test-Laboratory (Industrial/R&D Director – Ukraine), Shchelkovo Biofactory (Production/R&D Director – Russia) and now he is the Side Director at the Middle East Vaccine Company (MEVAC, Egypt).

Leonid lead projects in biosimilars vaccines design and development, production, technology transfer, Up-/Down- streaming, adjuvants, etc. He has strong knowledge in experimental/industrial biologic sciences techniques, MAb’s production, bioinformatics, and projects development.

 

The main objects of his interests are the next viruses – FMDV, Rabies, HCV (SFV), Aujesky Disease, Avian Herpes- and Retroviruses and others.

 

He has 4 children and is interesting in the Karate-Do, reading Si-Fi and historical books; blues-rock and rockabilly style music; numismatics and phaleristics, High-Tech, Singularity of consciousness (cognitive singularity).”

 

Graeme Ladds

With a first degree in Biochemistry & Pharmacology and a PhD focussing on drug metabolism and Pharmacokinetics Graeme has worked in the areas of Drug Safety and Medical services for nearly the last 30 years.

Graeme has been working as Head of Global Pharmacovigilance and EU QP PV for many large (and small) Pharma, and has been CEO for the last 19 years for PharSafer.

Graeme is also a member of TOPRA; RQA and the Institute of Directors and has helped small start up Companies in their planning, growth and been involved in Company acquisitions, due diligence activities for product in-licensing and marketing and development strategies.

Graeme has been involved in many drug development programmes taking products from the bench is market in a wide range of therapeutic areas.

Graeme also has an additional role as Research & Development Director for products to be developed for global launches.

His Excellency Eng. Saif Mohammed Rashid Saeed Al Shara Al-Samahi

His Excellency Eng. Saif Mohammed Rashid Saeed Al
Shara Al-Samahi is the Assistant Undersecretary for the
Sustainable Communities Sector and the Acting
Assistant Undersecretary for Food Diversity Sector at the
Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
Previously, he held the positions of the Assistant
Undersecretary for the External Audit Sector, the
Assistant Undersecretary for the Agricultural and
Animal Affairs Sector and the Assistant Undersecretary
for the Water Resources and Nature Conservation
Sector at the Ministry of Environment and Water since
2009.
His Excellency started his career as an engineer in the
Marine Biology Center – Ministry of Agriculture and
Fisheries – Umm Al Quwain in 1994, then moved to the
Central Agricultural Region Department – Ministry of
Agriculture and Fisheries – Al Dhaid and became the
Head of Animal Health Department at the Ministry of
Agriculture and Fisheries. He also worked as the Head of
Agricultural Affairs Department, Eastern Agricultural
Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries,
Fujairah, and later as Director of Eastern Region,
Ministry of Environment and Water (formerly Ministry
of Agriculture and Fisheries), Fujairah.
His Excellency is also a member of several committees,
including the UAE’s Circular Economy Council, the
National Wellbeing Council, the National Commission
for Education, Culture and Science, the National
Biosecurity Committee, the UAE National Industrial
Development Committee – the Ministry of Economy,
and the Advisory Committee for the College of
Agriculture – UAE University, and the Board of Trustees
of the Sheikh Khalifa Center for Biotechnology and
Genetic Engineering.

Marc HENNINGER

Marc Henninger graduated from the Veterinary College of Nantes in France in 1994. He specialized in Food Animal disease management and defended his thesis at the Faculty of Medicine of Nantes in 1996. He finalized a Master degree in Business from the University of Rennes in 2004.

He is currently Director for Corporate Affairs at Elanco Animal Health for France and MENA GSE (Middle East, North Africa, Gulf, Saudi, Egypt and Pakistan). Elanco is a pharmaceutical company dedicated to animal health that markets veterinary drugs, feed additives and biocides to prevent and treat diseases in livestock and companion animals. Marc has 25 years of experience in Food Animal in the fields of veterinary medicine, genetic, nutrition and vaccine. He has been a speaker in several conferences in France, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco.

 

He represents ELANCO in several working groups of SIMV, the French association of animal health industry representing manufacturers of medicines and diagnostics for animals. Marc is also involved in OIE and Codex activities through Elanco’s membership in Health for Animals and International Meat Secretariat. He has a deep understanding of the complex guidelines and regulations related to AMR in France and EU and he follows closely guidelines published by international organizations (OIE, WHO, FAO, OEDC,…).

 

His two main areas of interest are antimicrobial resistance and zoonotic salmonellosis. He strongly believes that improving Animal Health is key for Human Health and Planet Health.
