Dr. Maria Szabo

Dr Mária Szabó obtained her veterinary degree at the Veterinary Science University in Budapest. After some years in Human Neuroscience Research, she worked in the veterinary field.

Before she joined the OIE, she was employed in a French Multinational Company, Ceva-Phylaxia Co Ltd, working as the lead expert on European procedures.

Previously she worked in the Hungarian public sector, as part of a regulatory body known as the Directorate of Veterinary Medicines, for nearly 15 years. During that time she was seconded to London for two years as a National Expert to the European Medicine Agency (EMEA). She acted as a secretary to the Veterinary Mutual Recognition Facilitation Group (VMRFG,), ( later the Co-ordination Group for Mutual Recognition and Decentralised Procedures, (CMDv)), to the Committee of Veterinary Medicinal Products (CVMP)-Environmental Risk Assessment Working Group (ERA-WP), and as a project manager for centralised procedures. She represented Hungary in different forums in terms of veterinary medicines.

 

Since 2015, Mária has been working for the Word Organisation of Animal Health (OIE), based in Paris. She is responsible for the mission of veterinary medicinal products

Dr. Nan-Dirk Mulder

Nan-Dirk Mulder is a senior analyst animal protein, and covers the industry from an international perspective. He is based in Rabobank’s headquarter in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Before his appointment at RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness, Nan-Dirk worked for the Product Boards for Livestock, Meat and Eggs (PVE) and the Agricultural Economic Research Institute (LEI) in the Netherlands.

Since joining Rabobank, Nan-Dirk advises the bank on global commitments in the animal protein sectors. He has also been involved in the bank’s many advisory and research activities in these sectors and has built an in-depth knowledge on key strategic issues in these industries. Nan-Dirk has advised and participated in projects on all continents of the world. He is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars all over the world.

Nan-Dirk graduated in agricultural economics, marketing and market research from the Netherlands’ Wageningen Agricultural University in 1996.

Dr Leopoldo H. Stuardo

Dr Leopoldo H. Stuardo Escobar has broad experience working at national and international level dealing with sanitary negotiations related to trade and in developing international standards and national regulations on animal welfare. Leopoldo has been developed these activities at the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) from the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture, at the Chilean Mission to the European Union in Brussels and at the Headquarters of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) in Paris. Currently, Leopoldo is working at the Standards Department of the OIE, in charge of the animal welfare activities related to the OIE Terrestrial and Aquatic Animal Health Code. Leopoldo holds a DVM from the University of Chile and MSc at the Catholic University of Leuven (LLN).
